Hi! My name is Lindsey Aguiniga. I live in Dallas, TX with my wonderful husband, Omar and my sweet Miniature Schnauzer, Lexi.
I'm a girl from a small country town who got roped into the big city when I decided to move to the DFW area to obtain my college degree to become a speech/language pathologist. Upon graduation from college in the spring of 2009, I began working as a speech pathologist for a local school district in the fall of 2009 and have been with the same district for three years now. Even though I enjoy what I do and love the satisfaction I receive from helping children, I've begun to feel like that this isn't what I'm "supposed to be doing." After much contemplation, I came to the decision that I wanted to become a certified personal trainer.
Now let me be honest with you, I haven't always been into staying healthy or even working out for that matter. I was always an athlete and have played sports since I was at least 4 years old (my mom has the softball pics with my matching hair bow and freshly starched, striped blue jean shorts to prove it :) Love you, Mom!)
But when it was off-season time or when Wednesday rolled around(the day we did super instense conditioning) I was doing everything and anything to try to get out of it. And tell me I had to run a mile, ONE MILE, and I was dreading going to athletics all day!
Eating healthy was never really important to me either. I vividly remember going to grab a Big Mac and super-sized fries and Dr. Pepper before many volleyball and softball games. I'll go ahead and say it for you, reallllllyyyyy??
However, my whole world began to change in January of 2011. I was going to be getting married in June and I was bound and determined to look GOOD on my wedding day. My wedding was going to take place on the beach and I told everyone that I was NOT going to look like a beached whale on my wedding day, no siree! I started running races with my sister, doing Zumba, and going to the gym on a regular basis. After being that girl who completely dreaded running just one mile, I never would have imagined myself being able to run a 5k or 10k, or half marathon. Surprisingly, I LOVE participating in races and the satisfaction I receive from running and crossing that finish line is a feeling unlike any other!
During that time I did lose about 13 pounds but after a while, I wasn't losing weight anymore. It wasn't until I discovered the way to eat healthy (properly) that I continued to lose weight. After FINALLY figuring out what works in the way of exercising and eating healthy, I wanted to be able to share that with people who haven't been as fortunate to figure it out yet. After lots of contemplation, I decided that there would be no better way to share my knowledge than to be a personal trainer. Which brings us to the present day! I am so excited for this new journey I've decided to embark on and can't wait to see what this new adventure has in store for me! :)

But how we forget who was always practicing with you!
